Can a change of color alone make you buy more? The answer, to a certain extent, is yes. Many designers tend to think of colors as something that has only a purely aesthetic impact. However, colors are actually a vital component of the psychological impact of your design on users. Colors send a message without being overt and can thus determine buying choices. It only takes 90 seconds for a person to form an opinion about your product, and it’s estimated that up to 90 percent of that opinion is based on colors alone. Since color is often the first thing users notice, it has a huge impact on their thoughts. We get asked this question a lot here at the Vault. Or, more appropriately, a variation of it. That being, “How does social media influence SEO? Or even more specifically, “How does social media influence SEO and how can we use it to improve ours?” And I believe this, truly, is the question everyone wants answered. Like almost all questions in digital marketing however, it is an answer that depends wholly on your current brand’s very specific social media situation. What may be optimal for one brand may be a waste of time for another. The good news is that this article from Yoast does a great job of laying a basic foundation, and answering some important questions that will set you up to understand a custom solution. Handling your social media is a necessary part of any marketing strategy, but it’s also a vital part of any good SEO strategy. The popularity of social media has risen and probably will keep doing so. That means Google and other search engines can’t ignore them, and you probably shouldn’t either. You even see recent tweets popping up in search results now! So let’s discuss: how does social media influence SEO?
If your brand uses Instagram for business, you’re probably already aware that Instagram Stories is an effective way to engage with young users. In 2019, 500 million accounts used Instagram Stories every day and 67% of all Instagram users are ages 18 to 29. Stories’s interactive features—like polling, questions, and Instagram AR filters—are fun ways for brands to engage those users. (Not sure how Instagram Stories can build your brand? We’ve got tips to help you use it like a pro.) Augmented reality (AR) sounds futuristic, but Instagram Stories has used augmented reality filters since 2017 when it launched its face filters. And recently, Instagram Stories took augmented reality to a new level. The Facebook-owned platform Spark AR Studio lets users create their own interactive AR filters. In August 2019, that platform was opened to the public. Now, anyone can create custom AR filters for Instagram Stories.
When Twitter suddenly announced it was shutting down Vine in 2016, fans immediately started campaigning to bring the beloved short-form video app back. Dom Hofmann, one of the original cofounders, has been working on doing just that for years. After a few stops and starts, his new app Byte finally launched on January 27th 2020. It already has 1.3 million downloads, according to Sensor Tower. It also appears to have learned some lessons from Vine’s demise, but that won’t necessarily be enough for another social video app to survive in 2020.
